This update is well overdue. I was waiting until I uploaded some pictures so there could be some show with my tell.
A few weekends ago we took Dylan to Sunset Junction to see Menomena play. We felt like we had come full circle seeing how the last time we saw Menomena was right around the time the girl was being conceived. Sunset Junction is right at my old neighborhood, my first neighborhood here in the city. We stopped by my old place to visit with my old landlord's family. They were super friendly, like I had remembered and were so happy to see me and my little family. Once we got to the festival we walked around until it was time to make our way near the stage. the band was good and Dylan "sang" right along with them.
Labor Day weekend was great. We had nothing on the books, so Andy was able to spend three whole days at home bonding with the wee one. We went out to dinner to celebrate our four year anniversary! It was a great evening and Dylan behaved herself like a good little girl for two whole hours at the restaurant.
The next day I took Dyl to the History Museum and the Science Museum downtown. We met a client and her little boy there and we had a nice relaxing time (the History Museum was so nice and cool and entrance was free that day). Dylan is happy to go new places and do new things. She is very adaptable!
She continues to enjoy her weekly gymnastics class. the kids don't do much gymnastics at this age, it's really just structured baby play time. She loves hanging out with all the other babies. This past week the class was more crowded than it's ever been. Dylan loved the larger audience. During our opening circle time she insisted on standing (while holding my hands) and making a very loud baby announcement to everyone. The parents all chuckled. It was very cute. She is not very shy.
Dylan has some new tricks. As of Friday she can do raspberries! It's officially the first thing we've taught her to do (I'll try to get some pictures for you, if possible). Also on Friday she got up on her hands and knees and moved one knee forward. Last night she got up on her knees, put her face to the bed and plowed forward. We're still not crawling in the conventional way, but it could be very soon. Dylan's most recent foods are cantaloupe, zucchini and avocado. She likes the cantaloupe in her rice cereal and she loves avocado. I got her honeydew melon to try later this week.

Today we went to lunch with my old friend/co-worker, Gayla. We were co-workers first, then about two seconds after that Gayla and I were close friends. We've kept in touch even though neither of us work at the old law school anymore. Gayla moved to San Francisco last year and she married her boyfriend of ten years this past Summer. It was great catching up with her and hearing about her life and travels. And she met Dylan for the first time. Dylan was very well behaved and very popular at the Magnolia Grille. I gave her my pickle, which kept her entertained for a good while.
